Of je nu verhalen vertelt voor marketingdoeleinden, als kunstvorm, om mensen enthousiast te maken voor iets of om hen over iets te informeren, jouw verhaal zal alleen zijn doel bereiken als de luisteraar erdoor geboeid is. Mocht je twijfelen aan de waarheid van deze woorden, denk dan bijvoorbeeld eens aan reclames die je op tv ziet of op de radio hoort. Er zijn er maar een paar die ‘blijven hangen’, toch? Waarom blijven ze hangen? Je hebt er misschien nog nooit over nagedacht, maar de reden hiervoor is dat ze aan bepaalde ‘verhaalvereisten’ voldoen, zoals: het doel van het verhaal en het perspectief van waaruit het wordt verteld, zijn duidelijk; de aanwezigheid van een of meer elementen die de aandacht van de luisteraar of kijker vasthouden (je kunt dit de ‘sleutelvraag’ noemen); herkenbare emotionele inhoud; een stem die het verhaal persoonlijk maakt en helpt om de (visuele of hoorbare) inhoud van het verhaal te begrijpen; een ritme waarmee het verhaal wordt verteld dat helpt om de aandacht vast te houden; de juiste hoeveelheid informatie (niet overweldigend, niet te weinig); het gebruik van beelden en\/of geluiden die de verhaallijn verfraaien en aanvullen; de lengte van het verhaal (digitale verhalen duren maximaal 4 minuten, vaak minder dan 4). <\/p>

In deze module behandelen we stap voor stap de elementen waar je op moet letten als je aandacht wilt vragen voor immaterieel cultureel erfgoed door middel van een digitaal verteld en gedeeld verhaal. Daartoe gebruiken we de volgende vragen: Wat is het onderwerp? Wat wil je erover vertellen? Wie vertelt het?
